SUPPORTING
HEALTHY
CHOICES

We engage communities about a range of health issues such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, prostate cancer, breast cancer and we promote the values of healthy eating, exercise and weight loss. We do this through the Beacon Hubs, webinars, outreach events, publications and social media.

Our aim is to make every contact an opportunity to help someone improve their health.

For those who require a more convenient time to access information about their health and wellbeing, we are working to provide regular virtual Beacon Hubs and online events.

We also train volunteers to become peer health educators.

The Fruit and Vegetable on Prescription pilot, a collaboration between AT Beacon project and The Alexandra Rose Charity.

Fruit and Vegetables vouchers are distributed weekly at two of our hubs (Angell Town and West Norwood sites) to 50 eligible households that we have clinically determined.

We are supporting these individuals and their households with this scheme for at least 9months
"As part of our Fruit & Veg on Prescription Project, people in the community who the Beacon Project support and who also have health conditions that can be improved by eating a healthy diet, are now receiving weekly Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg.
The Beacon Project has done an incredible job of implementing the Fruit & Veg on Prescription Project in Lambeth. With nearly 50 participants already enrolled, the project is making a real difference in the lives of local people. By increasing access to healthy food, the project is helping to combat food insecurity and improving the health outcomes of some of Lambeth’s most vulnerable residents".

Feedback from The Alexandra Rose Charity.
